Pratinha Brewery hits New York City with brazilian forest flavours

The Brewery will present 4 beers at one of the biggest music and beer festival in the USA, the OctFest.

Based in Ribeirão Preto - Brazil, Pratinha Brewery is getting ready to show its most exotic flavours in the USA. In September, the Brazilian brewery will attend Octfest, a music and craft beer festival organized by Pitchfork and October websites.

The second edition of the festival takes place on Governors Island on September 8 and 9  and will host more than 90 breweries from 15 countries. Big shows are also on the schedule: The Flaming Lips, BADBADNOTGOOD, Nile Rodgers & CHIC, Saba, Yo La Tengo, Preoccupations and Madison McFerrin are some of the confirmed bands

Pratinha, Official guest of Colorado Brewery (also a Brazilian based brewery), which will also be one of four Brazilians to be in the festival, Pratinha is expected to present to the American public for the first time four beers with a lot of history to tell:

P3 (Aka: Porter, Porteira e Portão) - Porter
Inspired by the American Peanut Butter Porters, Porter Porteira and Portão is a celebration of the charming Brazilian accent spoken in the small town areas and farms in the heart of Brazil. In this Porter, together with the best cocoa nibs available, the brewery used a huge dose of “paçoquinha”, a peanut-butter sweet considered as a comfort food dessert countrywide in Brazil. This beer is a gold medal awarded beer at the Brazilian Beer Festival, 2018 edition.

Cabruca – Catharina Sour
Unlike the taste we know of chocolate, the cocoa pulp brings notes of green and slightly acidic fruits. The “Cabruca” Cocoa, from the south of Bahia state in Brazil, is the name given to the way the culture is handled in the shade of the native trees of the Atlantic Forest, a method used for more than 200 years, characteristic of being one of the most sustainable in the world. We chose this special ingredient for our debut in this Catharina Sour, the first official  Brazilian beer style.

Kamayurá - Maibock
The Kamayurás are indigenous people who inhabit the Brazilian basin of the Xingu,  in the South of the Amazon jungle, and their traditions involve the Jatobá,
a native and peculiar tree of which they make use of their wood and the exotics fruits.
For this Maibock, we use this indigenous ingredient for a disruptive and surprising combination. Malted, aromatic with a medium body.

Birudo - Witbier com Yuzu
This beer reveres the millennial Japanese culture with a recipe that creates a link between Sorachi Ace hops and the citrus fruit Yuzu. The unusual and surprising mix brings an unique identity to the Birudo’s body and aroma.
